GUIDED TOUR OF WORLD FAMOUS ANCIENT IRISH CELTIC SITES

This tour takes you back in time to the mystical pre-christian period when High Kings ruled Ireland

With a local guide on board your coach you will be introduced to Ireland past and present and how the Ancient City of Armagh fits into this history . 

We will introduce your group to early Ireland with an audio visual tour of Navan Exhibition Centre where everyone will have a chance to explore their specific interests in Emain Macha - the Ancient Seat of Kings and the earliest Capital of Ulster. 

Having explored the many aspects of this early settlement through this audio visual tour a short walk with your Guide to the ancient mound will reveal the site where it all happened - the many legends, the impresive earthworks, sacred places and the panoranic views.

Following lunch in a nearby village pub we will travel to the scenic Ring of Gullion (half hour coach drive).  A guided coach tour of the Ring of Gullion will reveal the culture and legends of this historical ringdyke.   We will take time to stop off and explore the some of its ancient standing stones, dolmens and view the ruins of 17th century Moyry Castle - built as an outpost to guard "The Gap of the North".

We would recommend allowing a full day for this tour however the area of South Armagh is rich in ancient monuments, quiet villages and panoramic sites and a weekend in this historical rural part of Northern Ireland is highly recommended.
