Come on in and say "hello" to the locals - they want to share their City, The Christian Capital of Ireland  -  with YOU

No better way to get a closer look than to come with us on a guided walk of this small City where Saint Patrick visited and built his "great stone church".  A place which has played a significant part in the history of Ireland from the early rule of Queen Macha to today as the home of the Primates of All Ireland within the two great Saint Patrick's Cathedrals.

Our walk through the oldest City in Ireland will take you through the past and present of this ancient City.  You will walk the narrow alleys, past the traditional shops, pubs, classical architecture and uphill to Saint Patrick's Cathedrals.

On each corner there is a story to be told of the colourful characters who designed and built the circular streets and their classical " places of learning " .  Today there are many classical 19th century buildings STILL in use for the very purpose they were built - this certainly gives you a great sense of how the legacy of the past is still an important part of the culture of Ireland and nowhere more so than right here in Armagh City.

The not so holy side of the City was its 17th century home to the Gaol, Barracks and death by hanging on the Public Gallows - many colourful and ghostly stories from this period of time are still very vibrant within the City today.

The City of Armagh has been visited down through the ages by many well known people such as Jonathan Swift and Brian Boru - who incidently is buried here! and I hear rumours that the Pope may visit Armagh!

I'll say no more - just come with us on a walk and really touch the heart of Saint Patrick's City today .  I can promise you a slow pace walk with plenty of interactive chat, humour and history - it's what the Irish do best!

The walk normally takes approx 1.5 to 2 hrs however with tea/coffee breaks, museum/cathedral stops we can extend tours to a half-day.
